This is off-topic, but it looks like I'm no longer a "loafer" with my 5th post. I'm glad to have that kind of affirmation, even if it is from a computer. I will sleep well tonight. Very Happy

I know you were joking but, "Amen"! Someone has to. "For how then shall they call upon Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in in Him whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, 'How beautiful are the feet of those who bring glad tidings of good things!'" (Romans 10:14-15). And it is the gospel that subdues a rebellious heart and causes obedience to the Lord. The civil governments of our land will never be rightly reformed apart from the transforming work of the gospel in the lives of individuals which brings about obedience in all areas of life. And one day the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.

I know that someone has to—but I'm talking mass-missionaries going over. For someone trying to raise a family, that's not exactly going to be a good environment. And right now, it just is not practical.

Also, I do not believe that the very nature of public school is inherently evil, but it would seem that that is for another thread, another place.

And, what I said was played up for effect, not because I think that anyone should really believe it, or that I believe it. I magnified it for clarity. Wink

Mr. Legolas brought up Lot's tale, leaving with his family so Sodom could be destroyed. If Mr. Eschen was the last righteous man in California, i'm sure he'd take his family and leave so God could destroy the nation. That's not the case, however. California has a very high percentage of conservatives. That doesn't mean much seeing how most are luke warmers and most voted for McCain (but then again, I'm afraid big ole' Texas is in the same boat in that regard). Liberals and Conservatives alike rose up and argued against the stupid ruling of the judges. Even our Rhino of a Governor opposed the ruling. If we forced 166,000 homeschoolers to go to public school, our over-flowing public school system would collapse... on second thought, that doesn't sound too bad... but anyway, this was our state before the liberals perverted it. The problem is the churches in general. California (and the whole nation for that matter) will fall unless the churches rise up and turn back to God. The answer isn't to run. No sir. The answer is to rise up yourself and convince your brothers and sisters to rise up too. Get in conversations with other christians and talk to them about the meat of the Word. We need missionaries here as badly as we need them abroad. I heard some missionaries were coming to America to preach to the lost citizens of the land. We have more homeschoolers in California then any other states. I have seen vast networks of godly boys and girls being homeschooled and their numbers keep increasing and increasing. They are becoming a force to be reconned with. With our efforts, things are getting better, gradually. A good man named Mike Winther travels from church to church educating the members about the biblical view of government, working from the foundation and up. (Institute for Principle Studies). He has a solid curriculum and others are rising up to join him. The christians are growing in strength and the activists are growing in numbers.

In regard to the safety of the families, the families here are perfectly safe and everything is just fine for them. You out-of-staters can criticize us, but have you ever been to California? If so, how long? Come here and take a close look at things before you sign us off as loons. God bless you all!

The right of parents to obey God in educating their children has been protected by the State Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O’Connell. To see the most recent update, look here.
