That's what this section is for, right? Wink

My family went to see Prince Caspian this weekend. Has anyone here not seen it who wants to go see it? Just in case, I shan't spoil it for you...unless you want me to! tongue

I am always frustrated when feminist undertones enter into a movie. Women going into battle and fighting? confused Adding things that are not even hinted at in the book? confused

Well, I guess one shouldn't expect so much where sinners are involed.

Anyone else seen Prince Caspian? Your thought and comments?

Reepicheep is so cool! AND ASLAN'S ROAR IS THE COOLEST THING IN THE WHOLE MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, now that I got that out of my stystem. Over all, very good movie. Worth buying. Definently go see it in the theaters. The big screen just makes it better.

Personally, after reading over the book and other's reviews, I am quite inclined to favor Doug Wilson's opinion of the movie.

I was not happy to see Susan fighting. I wasn't overly upset though.

As for the Caspian/Susan thing…I wasn't as displeased after seeing it as I thought I would be. Part of the reasoning for it is that in The Horse and His Boy they go down to Calormen (sp?) because Susan thought she might want to marry (I forgot the dude's name). So Susan had already fallen in love with someone there last time they were there and this wasn't quite out of the blue.

What really bugged me about the 1st movie was Aslan. He was weak and not all knowing. (I can go into that later if someone wishes to debate that.) They improved Him in the second but some things still bugged me. Like where Aslan roars at Trumpkin (sp?) and—instead of like in the book where Aslan says do believe in me (or something like that)—Lucy says now do you see Him? They had a great opportunity to show Aslan knew about their previous conversation but (purposely or not) they didn't exploit it. When I see all those great opportunities go to "waste" it makes me want to wring the script writer's neck! Mad

Like I mentioned earlier, I haven't read the books in years so I have to judge by the opinion of those who have read the books recently (I hope to read through the Narnia books once I finished my required reading!). So, is Susan in The Horse and His Boy? I thought she wasn't in the books anymore?

I would like to hear more on your thoughts about Aslan, when you get the chance. I watched LWW when it came out in theatres, so I don't remember the entire movie too clearly, I need to watch it again!

The Horse and His Boy takes place during the end of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe while they're still in Narnia. So yes and no she doesn't come back to Narnia after Prince Caspian but she is in The Horse and His Boy. I guess it has been a while or you just forgot! Laughing Wink

Oh, yeah, it's been a *long* time...probably seven years ago, at least! The funny part is, when I started reading The Horse and His Boy, I didn't realize it was a Narnia book until it started mentioning Lucy, Peter, Edmund and Susan... Shocked

Does anyone know if there is a free edition to read online? I'm on a long car ride, and didn't think to bring the book with me...
