I'm a little ticked off...
http://washingtontimes.com/news/2009/feb/13/school-gun-case-sparks-cries-for-common-sense/
Basically what is happening in this news story is that a patriotic, academically successful young lady is being disciplined for having ARTIFICIAL, UNREALISTIC drill rifles in her vehicle while at school. She is a member of the Young Marines >link< and an honors student. Ironically, the students who turned her in were returning from participating in smoking, which is illegal on the school campus, as well as for minors. They were REWARDED for turning her in.
This is a moral outrage, and I as a member of a cadet program similar to Young Marines am in support of this young lady and wish to see justice done.
In this case, "zero tolerance" led to "zero common sense", as they threw the book at this girl, when common sense and justice would excuse her from any discipline.
Please read the article, and comment.

Re: I'm a little ticked off...
I think this quote from the article sums up my thoughts the best . . .
"We're not concerned about nonoperative rifles, and the facts in this case cry out for someone to exercise common sense," said Peter Hamm, a spokesman for the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence. "While officials seem to want to send an important message, which is fine, we don't want to see this young woman's life severely disrupted."
While I do not agree with the law in the first place, the fact that it is in place should warrant some use of the "little gray cells."

Re: I'm a little ticked off...
I'm just going to continue this as my personal rant thread, instead of starting a new one. Check this out: Obama's International Diplomacy Skills Unveiled. This guy is going to get us all nuked. How he could be so dumb and insensitive and offensive to one of our greatest allies is beyond me.

NEW RANT from the White and Nerdy! Obama administration to endorse UN gay rights legislation
So now the US is partnering with a globalist organization to support a pro-gay declaration decriminalizing homosexuality...under the guise of "human rights."
