At the time I wrote this I did not have well developed views on the subject. Discussion on this forum has clarified thinking. Regardless.... I expressed my self badly here. I was not intending to imply that those laws word for word apply to all nations. Obviously laws such as, if you steal an ox you pay back 5 and if you steal a sheep pay back 4, etc. do not apply directly to our non agragaeral society. So what appears to be an inconsistency is a combination of unclear language and slightly unclear thinking.

If you want to say it's an inconsistency that's fine. If so, I have changed my position. (I hope it's ok to be persuaded of something and change your position. That's the whole point isn't........so if you want mark up a point for yourself lol!)
