Re: US Citizenship
That's what you're proposing?
I looked up the 28th amendmant, doesn't look like there is such a thing, so I'm guessing you're proposing that.
You really wouldn't want anyone without parents of American citizenship, born outside of the US, unable to buy land? What for? That's ridiculous, no offense. So were I born in the UK, son of UK parents, I couldn't buy land in the US? Even if I became a citizen myself?

Re: US Citizenship
What good does that do, and what for? I don't see how that would help the country, and I don't see a good reason for it. If you come to America to live, get legally in, get your citizenship, and then want to buy some land to call your own, this would make it illegal! Let's say someone from Italy moves here, he's newly married, comes to the US, after *way* too long, he finally gets his citizenship. He has two children, born after the long process to get his citizenship, and wants to have some land of his own to give his offspring. The US government says no! How is that getting the government out of our lives? That's just involving them more. Them telling who can and can't buy land. If you are a citizen, you ought to be able to have full legal rights. With the possible exception of not being allowed to run for president. That amendment would say that if I want to sell a piece of property, and the only people who are seriously interested are "foreigners" with their US citizenship, the government is saying that I can't sell my land to them. They can either go out and rent some property or rent an apartment for the rest of their lives. Not only does that inconvenience them, but it hurts me (born in US) too! I don't think so...
Edit: The "law" would mean that if I were a citizen and lived in another country almost all of my life, my kids would be able to get land. Yet someone who lived near me all their lives, their kids could never buy land in the US because they themselves aren't US citizens.

Re: US Citizenship
OK then lets revise it and start at a more logical point.
Amendment #28
"As of 12:00 GMT December 31, 2010 any illegal alien (i.e. no papers at all)found within the United States borders will be immediately deported to thier country of origin without appeal. All borders will be closed except at approved checkpoints. Anyone attemping to enter by any other means or at any other point will be warned twice and have a warning shot fired, if they fail to turn back will be shot."

Re: US Citizenship
I have no problem not letting illegal aliens buy their own land. I just think that a legal citizen should have full privileges as a citizen of the US, tis all.

I've gotta second that motion...
I personally believe that all legal immigrants who have become CITIZENS should have full citizenship rights. But illegal immigrants should be deported, and the borders closed.
Re: US Citizenship
That sounds good on paper. The real question is how well would it enforce in real life. I agree with Stonewall's revised amendment #28. However I thought that this was pretty much what was already in place.
In answer to your first amendment #28 I certainly do not agree. I would like to be able to buy property in this country thank you very much. I was born in Japan. My dad was born in Korea. Would like to make it illegal for me or my dad to buy land?
(sorry if I'm beating a dead horse I just couldn't help myself)

Your father and mother were both american citizens so you would be allowed to own land.
