Women and the Right to Vote
From a Christian and Constitutional perspective, do you think women should have the right to vote?
Re: Women and the Right to Vote
I thin they they should, but I really dont agree with having a woman president. I think that God has set that aside for male spiritual leaders.
Re: Women and the Right to Vote
Aye, I agree addo1. I see it as ajudgement that we have women leaders (I hope I am not stepping on anyone's toes). I'd like my mom, grandmas, and teachers to be my only women authorities. Women should be allowed to vote. Many have good heads on their shoulders
Re: Women and the Right to Vote
I believe that, as in all things, a woman should submit to her spiritual head, either her husband or her father.
With that caviot I believe woman should have and excersize the right to vote.
With that said I also believe that only US citizens that own land should be able to vote, and anyone who is on any government assistance (i.e. welfare) should be banned from voting until 12 months after they stop recieving government aid.

Re: Women and the Right to Vote
I agree with women submitting - there are too many that vote however they want to. I'm not so sure about only landowners. What about young men who are of age and living at home, those who rent, and those who are not receiving government assistance but cannot afford land?
Re: Women and the Right to Vote
Those who own land, have shown a certain level of personal responsablity and should be rewarded with the privilage to vote.
Our founding fathers failed to take into account the total depravity of man.
Voting should be a reward for demonstration of personal responsability, not a right extended to all who drawn breath in our borders.
Only native-born US citizens who own property, or have completed 4 years of service in a branch of the military should be extended the HONOR of voting.

P.S. On a side note I think it is unwise at best for women to serve in our armed forces, I don't think women should be allowed to fill any role in our military, even support. It creates a twisted and unhealthy environment to try and fight a war in.

Re: Women and the Right to Vote
Also, on the topic of being a land owner to vote:
If you don't own land, you don't pay taxes like property tax, which is where money comes from that politicians use to fund their pet projects.
If those on welfare couldn't vote then the gov't wouldn't try to pander to them to get more of their votes by funding more handouts.
It's almost paying for votes.
EDIT: Does somebody want to make a new thread for this topic?

Re: Women and the Right to Vote
Actually property taxes go to the local government (city, county, state), adnd fund local infrastructure like they should.

Also they fund public schools. Still, those that don't pay these taxes shouldn't have a say in how they are used.
EDIT: Let's move this discussion to https://constitution.forumotion.com/general-discussion-f5/should-a-requirement-to-vote-be-ownership-of-property-t20.htm
